From the Inside (Looking Out)

  • United contemporary 1444 Dupont Street Toronto, ON, M6P 4H3 Canada (map)

Featuring the work by seven artists, From the Inside (Looking Out) honours the concept of home and its ability to shield, nurture, and nourish our identities, while remaining as a hearth for our private insecurities. Each artist in their innovative approaches to their respective mediums, conjure familiar perspectives on the intimate settings and activities that exist in the private space of the home. By bringing these moments and objects of intimacy into the public sphere at a time of seasonal hibernation, isolation, and cocooning, we examine our relationship to the spaces we occupy while looking with optimism towards Spring.

From the Inside (Looking Out) crosses a variety of disciplines which include sculpture, collage, papier-mâché, ceramics, photography and painting. This group exhibition includes work from Suzanne Nacha, Huy Lam, Sarah Dinnick, Badanna Zack, Marlene MacCallum, Stefan Berg and Danielle Cole.
